  • "We requested Sean to come by and provide some insights and advice on the structural integrity of our old home and plans to remodel it over the years to come. He is very knowledgable, professional and non-alarmist (which is very important when you are a new buyer with shallow pockets!). My wife and I were greatly reassured after Sean's analysis and learned a lot too. We were also grateful that he took the time. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn about their home."

  • "Sean came highly recommended to me be a couple fellow Realtors as their go-to for a structural engineer. I used him to check the structure of a brownstone unit that I was listing for sale in the South End of Boston. Sean was great. Very responsive over text to schedule our appointment and was available right away, showed up for our appointment on time. He was kind, competent and efficient. He helped us solve our problem and delivered a written and video report confirming that our structure was in good shape within just a few hours of visiting the site. I have since given his name to a friend in N Andover who needs help and I will continue to recommend and use Sean whenever I or anyone else I know is in need of a structural engineer. Highly recommend Sean!"

  • "I'm sure he does fine work based on the other reviews, but I didn't hire him, so take this with a grain of salt. My first impression though was that the guy is kind of rude - he hung up on me the moment I mentioned I was just looking for quotes. He charges nine hundred for an initial visit. That pricing seems to be in the high-end of the 10-ish places I called. The highest one I found was fifteen hundred, so you could do worse. But you can find much MUCH lower elsewhere for other structural engineers to provide the same service."

  • "We discovered a potential structural issue when looking at a late 1800's building in Boston's South End. Sean was very helpful in identifying likely causes. He also shared useful local knowledge about the area and historic construction practices. And he got back to me the same day I called! I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again......>VG"

  • "Sean has been a very integral part of the success of my two properties. He is competitive in cost and very practical. We dealt with another company though very professional and able were not willing to be cost efficient and project engineer for us. We turned to Sean and he was able to get us a new roof, some engineering work and repointed a large portions of our exterior brick walls for a competitive price. It’s difficult to work in Boston area and I appreciate Sean’s flexibility and easy going nature."

  • "Sean is knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. After calling with a concern about our house, Sean was able to ease our minds and help us realize that the issues were not as big as we first thought. I highly recommend Fennell Engineering."

  • "Sean Fennell provided an outstanding engineering consultancy experience. We asked him to examine two walls that connected two condos we wanted to join, to see if any were weight-bearing. He did the work precisely on time as agreed, opening chunks of the ceilings to ascertain what we needed to know, and sent us a clear, detailed report with photographs also for archival purposes. He was a joy to deal with at the personal and professional level. A few weeks later, when we explored deleting two old closets and needed his advice on whether we could do so safely without structurally damaging the building, he again did a terrific, clear, timely job that did not need any removal of sections of walls or ceilings. We recommend him strongly and will engage him again in the future for sure."
