- The 30" Belt Drive (30BWHFS) - 3.7 amps (H1) 2.3 amps (Low)
- The 24" Direct Drive (WHFS24M) - 4.2 amps (H1) 3.2 amps (Low)
The motor would seem to be overheating, check the requirement for attic square footage and exhaust. Not having enough may cause the motor to run intermittently. Too little exhaust are can overwork the motor, causing it to overheat and shutdown.

No, Master Flow® Whole House Fans are designed to be installed in a horizontal ceiling.
