John Altmeyer is Vice Chairman of GAF. John provides strategic counsel, helping GAF achieve its long-term growth goals.
Before being named Vice Chairman in January 2026, John was CEO of GAF for three years. Prior to joining GAF, John served as President of Carlisle Construction Materials for more than two decades. Prior to his time with Carlisle, John held a variety of financial positions at Carrier Corporation, a division of United Technologies. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Utz Brands, Inc. and the EMCOR Group. He previously served on the Board of Tecta America and Berkshire Bank.
John holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard University.
