About GAF Silicone Fibered Sealant

GAF Silicone Fibered Sealant is a polyethylene fiber-reinforced, high-build, non-sagging vertical grade silicone sealant. Features include low odor, easy application, a fast moisture activated cure, and strong adhesion to a variety of substrates.

Approved Substrates: Metal, TPO, PVC, Hypalon®, EPDM, smooth and granulated asphaltic, structural concrete, SPF, and existing silicone coating and sealant. It is not designed for use on metal seams where extreme movement is expected as the fibers decrease the elongation properties.

Packaging Size: 2 gallon (7.6 liter) bucket

Standard Color: White

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Substrate Preperation: All surfaces to be sealed must be clean and free from oil, grease, and any foreign matter. If necessary, and to provide a superior bond, any accumulated dirt should be removed by agitating with a stiff bristled nylon brush.

Mixing: GAF Silicone Fibered Sealant is a ready-to-use material. Containers that have been stored for any length of time may develop a skin/film on top of the sealant; this should be removed prior to use. Do not mix the skin into the sealant. Use immediately to avoid trace amounts of moisture from causing a reaction in the container.

Do NOT attempt to thin or self-tint.

Application: GAF Silicone Fibered Sealant may be applied by trowel or putty knife. Repair cracks, breaks, tears and holes by applying sealant as required. Typical application rates are between 1⁄8” to 1⁄2”, however, product can be applied at higher rates as necessary. Sealant can be applied over old silicone coating or sealant which has cured. Work the sealant into the crack or break and spread it 2" to 4" beyond, feathering the edges. Check to see that no voids have been left in patched areas.
