"We met with a sales agent on Friday, 8/4/23, to discuss remodeling our bathtub/shower combo into a walk-in shower because of our age-related mobility issues. The agent was very personable, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. We signed a contract before she left our home and gave her a $5,000 check for down payment. However, after thinking about the high cost of this project, we decided to cancel. On Monday, 8/6/23, we emailed the agent that we were canceling. This was within the 3 weekday legal grace period allowed to cancel by Federal law. The sales rep confirmed the cancellation by phone call that same day. Our issue is that here it is 8/21/23 and we still haven’t received a refund of our $5,000 down payment. Oh BTW, they cashed the check days after I cancelled. After many times trying to speak with a live person about our issue, we did speak with a person in their finance department who confirmed that their system shows the cancellation and the down payment. He said “we cut checks on Fridays and don’t jump every time someone needs a refund check.” I was taken aback by this snide response. After re-read the contract it states that they are obligated to return any money or property given to them by the customer within 20 calendar days. We’ll see."
"Capital did an outstanding job roofing my house. Roof was 20 years old and had buckled in a couple places. Needed to replace 2 plywood sheets. Material used top quality. Proj mgmt (Danny H) was great, responsive, communicated well, proactive. The roofing team was great especially in the 90f temps with dew points over 70. Hard workers, quality work. Excellent cleanup. You can find someone cheaper but not with the quality. Highly recommend."
