Its revolutionary flexible design provides maximum strength and stability, improved conformance to underlying substrates, ease of installation compared to typical Type VI felts, and long-term performance for peace of mind. System guarantees are available for up to 20 years.
Revolutionary flexible design rolls out easier and lays flatter, minimizing the danger of air pockets and trapped moisture during installation
Open pore design actively absorbs asphalt and installs faster than other Type VI felts
Enhanced porosity encourages proper absorption of asphalt for long lasting system performance
Features and Benefits
Durable
Proprietary Micro Weave Core provides superior tensile strength and dimensional stability, for greater resistance to splitting and cracking
Wind resistance
Superior wind resistance; selected systems have FMRC Class 1-180 rating
Highest Fire Rating
Highest fire rating; for use in UL, ULC Class A rated assemblies
Any discussion on asphaltic roofing will involve one or more of these three terms: SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene), APP (Atactic Polypropylene), and BUR (Built-up roofing). SBS and APP are polymers with unique characteristics, and membranes made with them are classified by ASTM numbers, types and grades. BUR is an assembly method in which multiple layers of felts are installed with hot asphalt in-between.
Asphaltic Membrane Installation Methods
One of the many reasons asphaltic roofing remains so popular is the wide variety of installation methods available. Depending on specifications, building characteristics and use cases, asphalt roofs can be hot-mopped, heat-welded/torch-applied, cold-applied (adhered), self-adhered, or mechanically attached. Find more about these techniques.
