About the convention center

This 26-acre convention center holds events of all kinds ranging from small weddings to large trade shows to banquets and more. The 200,000+ square foot convention center consists of ample square footage of exhibit space, meeting rooms and a ballroom. The facility also includes an outdoor terrace, enclosed and open-air walkways between the convention center and the adjacent hotel, as well as a football field sized courtyard between the facilities.

The Challenge
The Convention Center still had the original 20-year-old mechanically attached TPO over a metal roof with tapered polyiso insulation to maintain proper positive drainage. During installation there were a couple sumps with wrinkles in them and with a fully-adhered system it is difficult to move the material, so the team had to have an eye for detail when installing the self-adhered TPO membrane.

To achieve a reliable roof in a timely manner, the contractor opted for GAF’s EverGuard® Self Adhered TPO.
