"Pretty bummed on our experience with Sequoia overall. First off, I do want to acknowledge that Mike is a good guy and did try to help us, but unfortunately, we ended up worse off then we started. We bought a house in 2008 and after the first big rain storm of 2009, realized the roof in our addition was leaking. We contacted Sequoia to do an estimate for a new torchdown roof over the addition and Mike showed up promptly. We moved forward and had them do the new roof over the section. Unfortunately, within the first year and a half, the new roof was already leaking. Not only was the new roof leaking in the spot it was before re-roofing, it was also leaking in new areas that hadn't been problematic up to that point. I contacted Mike and they came out for another inspection. Apparently, the foreman had identified that the issue wasn't with the new roof, but rather with the pitched shingle section on the back of the house. Mike understood we'd had a tough run and offered to shingle the back pitch of the house, giving us a very significant break on the price. Well, turned out that didn't resolve the issue either and the roof would continue to leak the next ten years. They'd come out for repairs and I thought it would be fixed, but it never really was. Mind you, this was a roof they'd put on from scratch, not a patch or repair. We now have water damage and staining inside our home from the leaking, which we just keep having to paint over. We are getting bids from other roofers, but contractors don't want to muddy the waters for warranty purposes, so the newer section of shingles will need to be torn off anyway and we'll be starting all over with a whole new roof at a time when cost is very inflated. I'm just hoping the water and wood damage isn't too bad, it's been leaking on and off since installation. What I will say is that the customer service was really good. The company, Mike especially, was always very responsive and didn't leave me hanging. He even authorized another repair after the ten year warranty had lapsed, but again, the roof was leaking a year later. I just wish after having so many problems so early on, they would have just come and reroofed the torchdown section. That roof needed to be torn off and installed the right way. As a home owner, I didn't get to choose the person who installed my roof, only the company that did. It turned out, I wasn't the only person who'd received a faulty roof from this particular installer. I've now had numerous contractors out for estimates and many of them have said the roof wasn't applied properly. I asked Sequoia for an estimate to do a partial and their bid was as much as a whole new roof from other contractors. This tells me that they either want to make up the money they lost, or they don't want me to hire them."
