  • "They were only interested in replacing my roof, not just fixing the maintenance issues😗"

    - M.B, Jun 16, 2021

  • "In 2018 my boyfriend and I were purchasing our first home. We found out the roof would need to be replaced after the home inspection. The sellers agreed to include the funds to pay for a new roof at settlement - we just needed to find a company and provide a quote so they knew the correct amount. We received many quotes for a roof replacement varying from $3k-$7k. As a young couple we were concerned about going over whatever amount was quoted as that was going to be the amount we received at settlement. After researching Wells Home Improvement and receiving a quote for $3,975.00 on 5/5/2018, I called and spoke to Travis Wells and voiced our concerns and he said it was no problem providing another quote for $5k so we were protected if the project ended up being more than $3,975.00 and he said any remaining amount leftover could be used for another project of our choice (I should have got this in writing). Then, on 5/8/2018 a quote for $5k was provided and we moved forward with settlement on 5/10/2018. On settlement day I advised Travis his company would be receiving the $5k payment shortly and we would like to get the roof replacement scheduled. He advised they were 6 weeks out and he would keep us updated because he was going to try to slid us in between jobs. I didn't hear anything so on 6/18/2018 I followed up and was advised they were still a couple weeks out but told him what color the roof needed to be because he asked. I continued to follow up once a week but was told weather was an issue. We were fine since the roof wasn't leaking or anything but didn't want it to be forgotten since it was technically already paid for. Then finally 9/3/2018 Travis asked if he could come do the roof the next day. My boyfriend had a immediate family member pass away on 8/25/2018 so he was off work grieving and asked Travis if we could schedule another time since he was going to be home all day. Travis said that was fine and he understood. On 9/6/2018 Travis' crew came knocking on my door around 8am saying they were there to replace the roof. Only my boyfriend was home since he had taken off and I was at work and he told them it wasn't a good time (something I had just told Travis in detail) and sent them away. Travis texted me that day saying, "Good afternoon just saying why you sent my guys away today. I know you said any day next week but look like we were going to have a storm next week and I had a opening today and I figured it was OK." I explained he should have communicated that with me and we ended up agreeing on 9/7/2018 and the roof was done the next day. On 9/8/2018 I asked for a final invoice so I knew how much money ended up being leftover and so I had proof the roof was replaced. I followed up 9/27/2018, 10/5/2018, 10/9/2018, and on 10/13/2018 I finally got the final invoice. But to my disappointment it was the most basic invoice I've ever seen - no details whatsoever - and said $5k was the final amount due to replace the roof. Which was coincidently the same amount Wells Home Improvement was sent from the title company even though the original quote was $3,975.00. So over $1k in additional fees for a townhouse roof and no explanation. I confronted Travis and he offered to clean our gutters. At that point I no longer trusted this company and said I just wanted any remaining money back. I requested an itemized invoice showing how they got to $5k exactly. On 10/13/2018 Travis said he talked to his grandmother about the situation and the total was $4,265.00 after extra sheets of wood was installed and would send us a check for the difference. Then, 2 days later, on 10/15/2018 he said he would have to send the check for the difference to the title company since they wrote the check and I told him that was fine even though it must have ended up going back to the sellers since we never received it. Long story short: DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY."

  • "Don’t contact them if you have a small issue. We just moved to the area, and a tornado damaged our roof; after reading the reviews, we decided to contact them to fix our roof. They never showed up to do the job, they rescheduled twice, and I’m still waiting to hear from them; this was back in November, several emails, messages, etc. And they never cared to reply or call us back, poor customer service. Very disappointed."

  • "As a real estate agent, I always send my clients to Wells Home Improvements. By far the best company to work with, especially for roofing and siding. Every client I send their way I know they will be taken care of."

  • "We had Wells install copper gutters on our home. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. One of the few companies that does copper gutters. I would use them again."

  • "Travis and his team did an amazing job tearing my roof off and installing a new roof. When I called, they were a little busy because it rained a lot that week. Travis fit me in for the following week. They had a team of professionals that started super early and finished the same day. Travis came when the job was complete and made sure everything was done to my expectations. Great company with competitive pricing. Would use again. Fantastic job!"

  • "Had a leaky skylight repaired and all was well until we had one of those big wind/ rain events. There was a small leak and only one time. Up to that point we were pleased with Wells. I have called and left at least 4 messages and sent an email with no response. Seems like once they are paid, they don’t take any responsibility to communicate with the customer. Customer service has been awful."

  • "Travis is a perfect combination of professional and trustworthy. Shows attention to detail in the companies work, and knows when things need to be fixed. Always been happy, and will have a customer for life!"
