  • "We had never heard of this company before, but they have a "store" in the Streetsboro Walmart and our son entered us into a drawing for $25000 in home renovation projects. They called to confirm all of our info and of course wanted to come out to pitch us their spiel. Paul came to our home and was very polite and informative, everything you expect these people to be when they come to sell you something. We've had several companies out for various reasons in the last few years, but what stuck with us overall about these guys was that they do all of their own work, always. They don't subcontract anything out, their people are crew specific to their specialty. So if they come out to do a window replacement one week and then a bathroom remodel the next, it won't be the same people doing both jobs. We hired them to replace our big picture window in our living room and they came out in January to do it! They set it up so we weren't losing heat from the house and also to make sure none of our kitties got out. They did a fantastic job installing the window AND cleaning up. You couldn't even tell we'd had workers there and they got it all done in one day! Now, since we had it done in January, obviously we weren't opening the windows for fresh air. The first day it was warm enough, we opened them up and discovered that the screens weren't held in place by anything! We called them back the next day to get it fixed and they ordered the part immediately and setup a time to come out as soon as it was in. A week after they repaired it, they called to make sure it was still good and that we were happy. They're coming out over the summer to replace our sliding glass door. Hire them, you'll be glad you did."

  • "I just received a follow-up call regarding a siding request I put in awhile back, but when I mentioned I got it taken care of, I was immediately hung up on. They didn't say anything else, just hung up the phone. Seems like this place sees you just as money and truly not willing to help or be professional."

  • "STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! Do your homework before using any contractor and get multiple quotes. My parents failed to do this. This company's prices are double what you would be paying for similar material and installation. Just found out they charged $8000 for a steel door and two screen doors for my parents. My wife priced out the same work and materials (she works for a home builder) and cost was a little less than half that. Rip off. Even worse: my parents are in their mid-eighties. Salesman totally took advantage of them. Deceptive and snaky to say the least. BBB and AG are the next to be notified."

  • "We rarely give reviews, abut when we do, we try to be as objective as possible. We wanted one company to do a whole bathroom project in a reasonable time and price. Even though Unique Home Solutions charge premium prices, we went with them partially because the salesperson and the team leader promised us to have the shower functional at the end of the second day of work. In our master bathroom, we asked for and did: (1) a bathtub-to-shower conversion with a removed dropped ceiling, (2) floor replacement, (3) sink faucet replacement, (4) toilet installation, (5) old vanity re-caulking, (6) wallpaper removal, and (7) wall and ceiling painting. At the end of the second day, if we had not asked, they were to leave for the day without telling us the shower is not yet functional. When we asked, they said that they never have it functional in two days. Also, we ended up with a mediocre paint job in the bathroom. The walls were not skim coated before priming and painting to cover the "evidence" from tearing down the wallpaper. When we asked the project team leader and the customer relations/service office, why they skipped this logical step, the answers they gave us was: skim coating/prepping the wall for painting was not included in their paint job description–just removing the wallpaper and painting–because we didn't specify/asked for this step. Basically, it was our fault for not telling them how to do their job. Is not the knowledge and competence customers entrust experts when hiring to do their job professionally? (Do I need to ask for a spoon every time I order soup in a restaurant?) For a professional home improvement company that considers itself the leader in the field, assuming customers' fault for not doing their job professionally is not and should not be an excuse. They never once recommended doing this; if it was an “extra,” they should have tried to upsell us, not just skip the step that obviously needed to be done. As far as we can tell, the rest of the bathroom remodeling job was done well. Though the unprofessional paint job, and their dishonesty in explicitly promising a functional two-day shower install that they were unable to deliver, make us nervous about what we can’t see. Sincerely, Gordon family Summit County, Akron"

  • "Just talked to this company about coming out to quote an exterior project for my house - trying to get lined up in the spring because we are about out of time in the fall. told them what im looking for and it was set up. transfered over to talk to someone else to confirm appointment. my kids run non stop sports in the afternoon/evening so right when i get out of work is the time that works for someone to come over to quote the job. because my wife cannot be there - they will not come to quote the job. DO YOU THINK I WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO MAKE A 25K-30K DECISION AND PICK MATERIALS OUT WITHOUT BEING 100% ON THE SAME PAGE AS MY WIFE. I DONT CARE IF HISTORICALLY YOUVE HAD TO GO BACK TO POTENIAL CUSTOMERS HOUSE TO EXPLAIN STUFF AGAIN - you guys really are "UNIQUE" ! have a blessed day"

  • "We had our tub surround, tub, shower doors, and toilet redone. We were very pleased with the work and the workers. The two men that did the work, worked very hard and cleaned up after they were finished. I was very pleased with all of the work they did. They had everything done in a day and a half. It looks better than I thought it would and am very pleased with everything. I was a little disappointed that it took so long for the remodel to take place. That is why I gave them 4 stars rather than 5."

  • "I signed up for a quote at a community event where Unique Home Solutions had a booth. After lengthy confirmation on the phone, they still got my house number, phone number and name wrong when they relayed it to the rep who came to the house. The quote was absurdly high for gutters and downspout replacement, and the quote was for a fully financed amount. I was not given any information on how it was calculated, the term of the prospective loan or the interest rate. When I called the next day to ask what the flat cash cost would be to help me make an informed decision, the receptionist's immediate and inappropriate response was, "Do you have the money?" I was told that only a manager could tell me the cash price, but I never got a return phone call. Then I got a call asking me to evaluate the rep and I said again that I wanted to know the cash price. I was told again that only a manager could tell me, but I still never got a return phone call and now a full week has passed. No one has even checked in with me to ask if I'm still interested in having them proceed with the project. I notice with other reviews that, if it's good, the owner acknowledges it, but the bad reviews are pretty much ignored. This experience caused enough red flags to prompt me to write this, my first ever Google review. And BTW, the rep was a nice guy. Too bad his own employer wasted almost 2 hours of our lives. Move along, there's nothing to see here."

  • "This company is extremely sexist! Though I am the owner of my home and make all financial decisions I was told they would not come out to do an estimate without my husband home. I reiterated he might be working and I’m the owner. It would not have been so bad until they were a no show this morning and when I called it was based on if he was here. This is taking sales to a not ok level. I know they just wanted to close on an order same day and thought that would have made the difference, they are wrong. I’m glad they didn’t come since I wanted to cancel anyway. I would not do business with a company like this!"

  • "VERY PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. EXPLAINED EVERY STEP OF THE WORK THAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE."

  • "We had been dreaming of a new bathroom ever since we saw the Delta Faucet commercial with the man singing into the shower head. I saw an add on Face Book and decided to give them a call. The sales representative came to our home and talked about the company, the history, the ratings and then showed us the product. Our project included removal of the walk in shower and replacing it with cabinetry. Replacing the toilet as they were too low. We also needed to replace the cabinets at the sink area and remove the mirror on the wall and replace with mirrored storage cabinets. The garden tub we wanted to convert into a walk in shower. We picked out which colors we wanted and the flooring we wanted as well. The price came back at $26,000+ not including the cabinets or mirrored storage above the sink. We felt we could pay to have a great job done. I would recommend the company check out the product they order for an installation to make sure what was ordered is what came out. It was not the case in our remodel. What we thought would take 5 days - turned out to be 30+ days. When they installed the cabinets (after patching) us priming and painting - even with the 3/4 inch space the walls were gauged badly so much so that it had to be re-plastered, primed and painted again. We had to ask them to caulk around the top of the shower in case water leaked behind. The walls around the bathroom were also damaged. We had to wait longer because the counter top was too narrow - which is a good thing because it wouldn't have fit if it were. Then when they told me the correct countertop came in - I asked them if the backsplash came in because we didn't have it at the house - they got in the wrong backsplash as well. End result is - we had to do extra work to patch up, clean up - thought with the price we paid, it would have been a neater cleaner job. A few days after the install, we got a call from the company to see what we thought. I explained the story to her, she apologized and said she would have the owner give us a call. He never did. Instead we had a gentleman know at the door, ask us 6 or so questions that were a yes or no response then he turned away and left. If you use this company, they do have good product - but you need to stay on top of them."

  • "Unique redid our bathroom. We feel like we are at a hotel now. It's beautiful. They are the neatest people who have ever been in our home. They put down a tarp to cover where they were walking back and forth to the door. When they were done and took the tarp up, they vacuumed the carpet. They even cleaned the fingerprints off the storm door!"

  • "Signed up for a prize deal. Had to listen to a sales pitch from nice people who came to the house. They gave a really high quote for the work. Then the calls started. About every couple months they call and ask about doing work. Im very open with them. I signed up for a prize. Unless I'm getting the prize don't call me. They keep calling. Even when I'm straight forward about being "not interested in paying for anything from you, I only wanted the prize." Salesman kept pushing on the phone. I have asked to be removed from the call list or to have a note in my account saying DO NOT CALL. I bet I still get a call in a couple months."

  • "Buyer and first time homeowner Beware These guys will scam you into a sale that is WAY overpriced (most likely to line their pockets). They reel you into products by explaining how much better they are than box stores...but after finding out differences, it's not by much. I paid $4000 (almost was 4.5k) For an entry door fully installed with one half circle window on top (no door knob hardware) I soon found out it was WAY too much for one door! My rear entry door and a man door for the garage was only $2500! Also you pay for "quality and a warranty" but they charge you $100+ to come out to fix anything. Find somewhere else"

  • "This company was wonderful from the beginning up until the end. The Presentation and knowledge of the product, the quality of material, the installation was flawless. They will be more then the average competitor, but you get what you pay for. We will do repeat business with them again!"

  • "Buyer beware! This company is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced! They quoted me over $38,000 for a siding job on my bungalow. I had already received two prior estimates, the highest being $10,300, just to give some context. The salesman started the visit by talking about my gutters (which were fine). I reminded him that I did not need gutters, I only wanted an estimate for siding. He then wanted to do a tour of my home, which I did not permit. When he came inside my home, he started asking about my windows. I again told him I only wanted siding. He started "measuring the moisture" around my windows. Ultimately, he quoted a price that included a window. The "quote" was this $38,000+ figure he scratched out on a torn piece of notebook paper with no details and after showing me samples of windows and siding and a presentations for an hour and a half. When I told him, I was not interested and basically he could leave, he kept telling me he wasn't finished. I got him out of the door by agreeing to another meeting with the scheduler he called on the phone. The owner came out the following week with the same song and dance under the pretense of checking to make sure the estimate was accurate. When I cut to the chase with him, he finally said he could not do the job for close to $10K. While the quality of their materials looked good; however, it was not any better than what I had seen from other companies. It was a waste of my time and I would avoid them at all costs."

  • "I'm leaving this review because my husband and I were very frustrated with the initial presentation. We did not make a purchase. We made it clear that we were on a budget, as well as myself being clearly pregnant. The sales rep arrived and did wear his mask, respected social distancing etc; however, after about 20 minutes of discussion and showing him what we were looking to do, he got out a book and wanted to go through the whole thing before giving us a quote. I told him that because of my pregnancy, I was uncomfortable due to covid-19 risks and hoping we could try to keep things short, as this is an important project. We told him our budget, and he said he would definitely be over that price but continued to stay without providing an actual quote for another hour. Even after commenting to my husband that I was getting very hungry and needed to eat (as we hadn't anticipated a 1.5-2 hour visit to quote a door), the sales guy took another 20-30 minutes to write up the quote. They wanted $11,000 to do 2 doors!! We told him our budget was $1000 for one. Whether our budget was realistic or not, out of respect I felt he should have been straight forward and left our home when I expressed that I was uncomfortable with a 2 hour consult. It was as bad as shopping for windows."

  • "Had them out for quote on roof. It was really high. "Apples to apples", shingle, underlayment, install, etc., they were way high. And it looks like they just went Bankrupt, Chapter 11 this month. Now watch them delete this honest review."

    - F.S.

  • "Perfect. That is the word I'd use to describe the process from start to finish. I had a difficult project that I wanted done ( see photo: replacing small windows in the dining room with a sliding glass door leading to the backyard) Not only was the service spot on and the quote super, super reasonable for the project but the crew was in and out in 1 day! (I still can't believe it) They were super professional and cleaned up EVERYTHING! I seriously can't say enough good things about this company. I am beyond happy with the final product. The sliding glass door itself is perfect, superior quality, and the work they did to put it in is flawless. They make super difficult jobs seem incredibly easy and Unique also followed up with a call to see how we liked everything and info about tons of great ways to get deals with them in the future simply by being a customer. 10/10! Having a company cut a huge hole into your house can be nerve-racking but their quality assurance is a huge plus and the guys working there are very talented at what they do. We absolutely love the renovation and it went PERFECT!"
