  • "Our issue was at the Port Coquitlam branch but was escalated to corporate and therefore is indicative of all Home Depots We were given a fridge that was defective on arrival. Two separate technicians found that it was factory defective and we had complained right away about damage done to our house during delivery and about the lack of installation and the waterline still not working despite us connecting it. The manager said that because we hadn't declared it defective within 48 hours and called the corporate number they couldn't replace it, they don't tell you this when trying to get your money, but as soon as there's issues act as though you've done something wrong. Don't be humble and assume you've haven’t done something right if your appliances don't work right away, they'll take advantage of you. Compare this to Lowes and Costcos return policy which give you 30 and 90 days respectively to return. I specifically want to complain about Andrew at corporate. He has a complete lack of empathy, he's rude, difficult to work with, and he called us liars on multiple occasions. He was insistent that we wait potentially months for a brand new factory defective fridge to be repaired instead of a refund or replacement. Even after he was supposed to be removed from the case he continued to work it, I suppose he took things personally. My entire life I’ve been patient and understanding with customer service workers, but Andrew is such an abrasive and arrogant person to the point where I’ve found myself frustrated within minutes. If Andrew is working your case ask him to be removed immediately he will make things difficult. Don't ever buy an appliance from Home Depot, they have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and there are infinitely better options such as Costco and Lowes. It took an extremely stressful month and a credit card dispute before we had our issue resolved. This review was originally twice as long with many more issues we had along the way but I had to cut it down."

  • "The head office needs to be more organized. And retrain everyone. We bought a fridge and was told by the Richmond (BC) location that the delivery people will make sure the fridge is working. They did not do that. They also dented our fridge. Asked for an exchange, second fridge came defective. Delivery people also did not check if it was working also. Waiting on the 3rd fridge and am being told they are only picking up and do not have a new fridge. So where am I supposed to put all my food? Then 10 mins later I get a phone call saying I'm getting a new delivery?? I honestly want to give negative stars. This should have been communicated prior with my and both parties of delivery people."

  • "In general I am happy with Home Depot products and service. However, I have an issue with the Ryobi batteries they sell. In most cases these batteries have a short life and after only a few months of limited use refuse to take a charge. Home Depot refuses to replace them and the batteries they sell are enormously overpriced. Buyer beware."
