"I received a proposal for our roof from Jimmy earlier this week. Two proposals came back, one for 107k (GAF grand canyon tile 3ply) the other for 108k (rolled steel). I expressed interest in GAF grand sequoia (2ply) when Jimmy visited our home, not the highest end, grand canyon. During our follow up conversation, Jimmy stated that they've not installed the architectural (grand canyon or sequoia) in a couple of years. His lack of confidence was evident, as he referred me back to GAF HDZ and indicated that they mostly install this type and that it's easier to work with. I reaffirmed my distaste in this standard-looking shingle for our type of home. He then went on to say that he would be more comfortable offering a warranty on the metal roof. Every other bid that we received, GAF high-end (grand sequoia) was far less. I let him know that we would not be moving forward with this company, as their proposal came in 50k more than another Master elite certified GAF installer. The point of this review is that I was completely surprised to hear him say, essentially, that they were not totally confident in installing a product that they hold a certification that only 5% of contractors possess in this country. I believe they purposely quoted the asphalt GAF so much higher, so that I would not accept their bid, or in an effort to corner me into selecting a far more inferior product."
"It is easy to be satisfied when everything goes as planned, but it means so much more when you are satisfied despite problems. That's where I find myself with Spokane Roofing Company. I hired them to not only fix wind damage to one side of my roof, but to ensure that it stopped happening. They inspected then gave me a quote a time they could show up. I agreed and they showed up, did in less time that they said they would, and were pleasant and professional the entire time. Then it got windy. REALLY windy. Within three days of the newly finished roof I had shingles flapping and the video to back it up. I left a message since it was after hours. They returned my call the next morning and had someone out shortly thereafter. They inspected and didn't argue that it was a problem and that they would fix it. It wasn't their fault that the sealant hadn't yet had the warmth to fully adhere for stability, but they were going to make it right anyway. And they did. They sent two guys out who spent the day adding extra sealant all along that side of the roof. No more flapping in the wind. Spokane Roofing will be my first call for roofing needs."
