  • "8/21/23: RESPONSE From "Reinbrecht Homes" respond to me via email and identify yourself, please UPDATE: I had a meeting on 8/04 with Phil and Matt Reinbrecht and the realtor Tim Mason (ReMax, Princeton) which (I assumed) was an effort to identify the cause of the problem and to make plans to take steps to rectify the problem. Phil at one point called the problem an "Imaginary issue". He at various times during the meeting told me other issues I reported "that never happened" in response to their question "What other issues have you reported. The only one we have a record of is this" (the sewage backup)." . They told me the other people on my block that had the exact same issue (according to the owners) was "not at all the same" issue as mine. They claim to have put that couple up in a hotel for 5 days to fix the problem (which they claim was something put down a drain that clogged the lateral). According to Phil, the issue was resolved "less than 2 hours in and out to rod the lateral and the job was done." (Why put them up in a hotel for 5 days if the issue was resolved in less than 2 hours???) That was mostly the entirety of the meeting with the exception of: 1) they called the Princeton Wastewater Treatment Plant manager to let him know I'd contact him the following Monday; 2) they demanded to see "in person" the issue as it happens. They told me to call their emergency service number (although they didn't supply the phone number, Phil gave me his business card, so at least I have his number). The gist of the meeting: gaslighting -- They are never wrong; the customer (me, at least) IS always wrong AND the issue is a figment of my imagination! (Original Review) Reinbrecht was wonderful to work with prior to closing. After closing they have been non-responsive, have out and out lied to me about an issue that I've had that they supposedly never heard about before (however I found out recently a neighbor had the exact same problem). Reinbrecht refused to fix it for them although the excavating company finally fixed it 4 years after they moved in! Mine has not been fixed nor has Reinbrecht admitted to me they've had at least one exact same issue. The nightmares I've gone through with sewage water backing up into my garage and house, the absolutely atrocious amount of rocks in the "yard", and issues I had when I first moved in. Not the least which was four cracks in my shower stall. I could not get a new stall - I had to get that one fixed, my LBT flooring cracked after a year and Reinbrecht did not want to fix it because it a week past the year point where I closed. I would not recommend Reinbrecht for any type of building whatsoever. I feel they use substandard equipment, it's obvious that their contractors and subcontractors have very little professional idea of what they're doing, and Reinbrecht's entire staff including Matt Reinbrecht have been not only unresponsive but at times almost hostile. Do yourself a favor and don't have Reinbrecht build your home - at least in the Princeton Indiana area. * They are great prior to closing then take no responsibility for any issues. * AFTER CLOSING They don't respond in writing, rather if they choose to talk with you, it is by telephone. This ok until you find out they won't follow through, then they deny they've been contacted by you. * Neither Gibson County IN nor Princeton IN has a building inspector and it is obvious Reinbrecht takes advantage of that. -*- The PEX piping was not properly installed and I was warned by an independent plumber the connections could burst at any time. Not is the PEX color coded for hot/cold water. Other issues too numerous to mention here. -*- Outside outlets are wired onto the same outlets as some inside outlets.. all on a 15 amp breaker. The GFI outlets on those installations constantly trip if more than one device is used (either inside or out). I retired and bought a new home here in Princeton in 2021. Two years later I am still trying to get issues fixed... So far at my expense. My advice,: Run while you can! no joke."

  • "Reinbrecht was able to build a wonderful semi-custom home on our undeveloped piece of land (required all new utilities, a well, and septic). Their process was very quick, efficient and clear. They moved at warp speed — breaking ground to moving in was about 6 months. The pricing was very reasonable. Our main contact, Brooke, was extremely helpful and responsive the entire time. Thank you for making this possible!"
