"I wish I could give zero stars because that is what I have received in terms of service. I contracted with Neil Kelly in May 2021 to convert a partially finished garage space into an ADU. They estimated about six months start to finish for the job. I know things are slow with the pandemic but I am here in August, 15 months after contracting, and not only is the ADU not finished, they have not even begun work. We paid our 50% down for the project in Dec 2021 and they have been sitting on tens of thousands of dollars doing...what exactly? I don't know, because months have gone by in which we had no word from our project manager. Every time I have to reach out to inquire about updates, every time receiving excuses but never a timeline and never any useful information. I want nothing more than to fire them but at this point the thought of starting over makes me want to cry and they probably wouldn't even give me all my money back. In the meantime every month this drags on we have to rent an apartment because the ADU is not complete. Neil Kelly has absolutely appalling communication and customer service. I will never use them again. Update: Here I am four months later and if I could give negative stars I would. I am so far beyond angry with this company. In four months they have fired two of our project managers, but for some reason the a$$hat who has been here since the start is still around. They one who after a year and half of sitting on the project suddenly realized the water heater wouldn't fit in his plans. The same guy who didn't realize there was a ceiling height difference to be accounted for. The one who ordered the wrong f***ing shower and because it was ordered so long ago, it can't be returned. Not only is this a terribly incompetent company, it really seems they treat their PMs like sh!t. Meanwhile they dug trenches in my backyard that have sat there open for months during the rainy season - thanks guys. The interior space is less usable than when I started because there is no finished floor and they knocked down a wall, but somehow nothing else has been done? What the hell are these people doing anyway? It's embarrassing. I have friends come over who ask why I have an ugly port-o-potty on my driveway that never gets used. Wish I had a good answer. And I fully expect them, to somehow charge me more for their delay, incompetence, and mass aggravation. Please never, ever, ever use this company."

"We've had lots of work done by NK. We like giving them a list of things to do. Much of the work was done brilliantly. Some not. Last time there were weird billing issues for a gabion and roof de-icing cables. I had to finally call the roof project to a halt and I had a hard time getting a final bill. So I had to make up my own and send a check (I hate to owe money). Maybe the start of the pandemic was the issue?"

"I have had the worst experience with Neil Kelly. I started my addition on my garage in November 2020 and they still have not completed the project. Our original project manager quit and the construction manager got fired all in one week. Neil Kelly then tried to repair the damages that those employees had done. Things were done without permits, they had to redo the walls of my garage which weren’t even in the original scope of work. The worst is that they dug 11 foot trenches digging up my grass all along the side of my house to connect the water line. The excess water from the digging caused concrete issues in my driveway and they refused to repair the grass that they destroyed leaving my yard a mud pit. It has taken countless hours to get in contact with anyone to give us a punch list and I don’t know if my project wi ever be completed because they have lied to me about deadlines so often. They are a nightmare to work with and I would NEVER use them again. Highly recommend you avoid this company at all costs. They will destroy your home."
