"I received quotes from 3 different outfits before going with DR. All 3 prices were competitive. I decided to use DR because of the warranty, quality of products, and they are local to me. Installation was roughly 5 weeks out. Took roughly 2 days for install. Foreman was professional and cleanup was good. Had a small issue a couple months after install. Foreman showed up two days after my calling (during his Christmas vacation) to assess and take care of the small problem. I would reccomend this outfit to anyone and gladly use them again!"
"Design Roofing sent a sales rep to inspect my roof and provide me with a quote, which I accepted. Over the next few weeks, I had a brick mason perform some critical work on my chimney which damaged several slate tiles. I told them not to worry, as the roof was about to be replaced. One month later, they delivered the shingles and other materials. Three days later, the crew arrived and said the roof was too steep. They left and the shingles were sent back to the warehouse. At no point during the lengthy inspection by the sales rep was any mention made about the steepness of the roof. None of the other contractors I contacted had any issue with the roof. Now I am stuck with a damaged roof with virtually NO TIME to find another contractor so late in the year. I am faced with potentially serious water damage due to Design's unprofessionalism and incompetence. BE WARNED! If Design will breach a written contract without warning, I seriously doubt they will honor any warranty they provide."
"Their sales rep came out and inspected the house (slate roof). He provided me with a quote which I accepted and we signed a contract. During the following weeks, I had a brick mason do some urgent work on a chimney. The mason said they would need to get on the roof which would damage the slate tiles. I said not to worry since I had a contract for a new roof to be completed in a few weeks. After the masons left, Design Roofing had the shingles and other materials delivered. On the following Monday the crew showed up. They took one look at the roof, said it was too steep, and left. A few hours later a truck arrived and removed the shingles. They basically tore up the contract and told me "tough luck." Design Roofing left me in a terrible lurch. I have a damaged roof that will leak and a very narrow time frame to try and find another roofer before winter sets in. I am looking at the possibility of serious water damage all due to their failure to honor their promise and abide by the contract. If the roof was too steep (it's NOT), why did their sale rep give me a quote. I had other roofers provides quotes as well, and none of them said the roof was too steep. STAY AWAY FROM DESIGN ROOFING!! If they will not honor a written contract, you can be certain they will not honor any warranty they promise!"
