  • "Contracted with them to put on an addition on our home and thrilled with how it all came out. There were some setbacks in the early stage with the city permit but once we got started things went relatively smoothly for a construction project. Happy with them and our home."

  • "Decent work for a fair price. A&W Puma have done a decent job with the work we contracted them to do. We needed mold removal, attic soffit vents and external ventilation for the dryer and bathroom fan, as well as new ducts for the bathroom fan and dryer. Firstly, the negative/minor issues: 1) The wrong dryer duct was purchased and connected. Luckily I caught this before they completed the install, which they easily and quickly rectified. While I accept the answer they gave for why the wrong duct was initially put on (Barcode mismatch), I also expect that general contractors, can tell the difference between cheap aluminum foil and sturdier semi-rigid material. 2) Three soffit vents were missing in the back eave. I confirmed with the PM that morning that we needed six total. However, it wasn't until I went outside at the end of the first day to check on the work, that I noticed there were no soffit vents in the back. I mentioned this to the worker, in which he confirmed with his manager I was correct. However, with the eaves being high up and it being the end of the day, no one was around to hold the ladder for the worker. I offered to hold the ladder for him and he finished the last three holes. 3) A soffit vent that was put in, fell out from the eave. Granted, this probably happened because I asked the guys to put some piping inside the attic side soffit vents, to funnel the airflow in, so they could put insulation around the exposed areas of the bays. I asked them to come back and fix it and to also put adhesive on all six soffit vents to make sure none of the others fall out down the road either. They did without issue. 4) The cleanup was a bit sub-par. There was some lint on the attic floors from the old pipes, sawdust all over the steps and entry ways from the eave holes, a couple of pieces of wood from the eave holes were not collected and removed. Due to living in a condo, the front is also shared with my neighbor so the "trash" isn't just in my yard, but hers. Now let's get into the positives: 1. As my opening states, the price for this work was very fair. I did not get charged anything extra, even for the couple minor things I added to the list for them to take care of. 2. Albert Puma was very honest, kind, and pleasant to talk to. I thoroughly enjoyed my interactions with him. He answered all my texts and calls as well as my questions, in detail. 3. When the workers first came, they were all very nice a courteous and even went as far as to taking off their shoes. While the gesture was very nice and really went a long way for us, it was also a bit moot as they then had to work in an attic that required shoes as well as going in and out a lot. 4. The Project Manager of my job, Leo, was fantastic. I wanted to give him a dedicated shoutout. The line of communication I had with Leo was exceptional. Leo was very quick to respond and resolve all the issues above. He made sure that we were the first people on the list on the days they needed to come back and fix things. Even when I texted him at 7:30 at night, he responded quickly with courteously. Leo made us feel taken care of. Even though these were minor issues, he treated them as if they were major and that is a great feeling. To sum up, I am happy with the work and service provided. They showed that they cared, they communicated well, and they resolved issues that came up during the project. Leo played a big part in jumping this rating up from a 3 to a 4. He really did make a big difference for us. I would like to see some of these minor issues rectified though: • Better cleanup • More attention to detail on the material and scope of work • Securing fixtures in a better fashion Even with everything mentioned above, I will certainly consider A&W Puma for my future work and maybe, we'll see these above changes implemented too."

  • "I started reaching out to contractors after our then contractor tried cutting a bunch of corners which we were able to catch at inspection time. AW helped us finish the project including coordinating inspections, fixing faulty work from the other gc, and finishing everything beyond that. True professionals in every sense of the word and an absolute godsend."
