  • "We were happy enough with initial installation of our panels in 2017. Post-installation experience has been horrible. When inverter failed last year, it took more than 2 months for Apex to install replacement -- lost 2 months of power generation during peak months. When we needed roof work done last year, Apex quoted an exorbitant price to remove and reinstall panels, and could only schedule months out. Solar Medix saved us, performed promptly, professionally and for much less money. We also placed order for a Tesla backup battery in October of 2020. After months and months of calling for status, I've given up and they haven't updated me in months. No response to my last inquiry in November of last year. And somehow they're still advertising the Tesla Powerwall on their website. They gave me a tee shirt when we installed the panels, though. There's that. 4/13/2022 UPDATE: We signed a price quote of $11.7K in October of 2020 for a single Tesla Powerwall. We were told yesterday (after waiting 1-1/2 years) that the price will now be "around $16K" and still no indication of when they might be able to deliver. The owner's over-the-top response below is not accurate. I signed the quote and offered many times to put down a deposit, and was told it wasn't necessary. I was also told by Apex rep that others who did put down a deposit were subjected to price increases, contrary to statement below. Apex says they "continue to install Powerwalls every week," but I was told many many months ago we were 8th in line, and they still can't give me an estimate for delivery -- or a firm price. Order cancelled. Beware."

  • "Apex Solar was really helpful with the questions I had and patient did not rush me to make a decision. The panels look good on my roof and captures plenty of sunlight."

  • "This is our second experience with Apex and I am generous with a 3 star rating. We built an off the grid small house in the Adirondacks and wanted solar. Our salesman was OK and knowledgeable though not good at listening to me (older woman) and I found that irritating but persisted. The real issue was our first project manager who really didn’t listen and basically had a cookbook approach to the project which considering we were 5 miles deep in the woods really wasn’t going to work He also forgot important stuff we told him and on one memorable conf call with our building contractor the two of us had to repeatedly remind the Apex contractor of the specifics of our project. Things improves when Apex sent him off to Texas and then all we had to deal with were delays and some other off grid issues that were not in the Apex cookbook for grid based solar systems. We have no WiFi at our little house so the system can’t be based on that. Apex finally helped with a work around but it was frustrating to not having these issues identified upfront. It was not a simple or pleasant process."

  • "I had my solar system turned on before the New Year. It looks fantastic and its fun looking at the app as my panels generate energy. Apex made it very simple to get solar panels installed. From the first day Gabe knocked on my door to see if I was interested, to making all the paper work electronic signature, to working with the actual install company. I didn't expect it to be so simple, but it was. I have heard from friends and colleagues in other States what a challenge it can be to get Solar installed. This was not. From the day we signed the final paperwork to the install (~2.5 months start to finish), it was a hands off experience for me. Apex was there to answer any questions I had, and made it all very easy. I highly recommend Apex for their professionalism, making it easy, and quality."

  • "Second experience with APEX, and I cannot say enough. The solar system was installed in Oct and went online in early Nov, and is exceeding my expectations and completely inline the solar estimates I was given, actually better. With the system online I realized I could do with a service panel upgrade, so they were the first on my list. I was not disappointed. From the front office to the technicians onsite it was a pleasure both times. Peter, Phil, Stu, and Erika, thanks, but what really makes it work are the guys on the job, and this time it was Evan and Joe."

  • "Apex solar was by far the worst experience i have had. Ryan Bardin Ruined the new equipment that was being installed and did not take responsibility.I had to get other company to fix there Work .Because of this Ryan bardin i will never use them again , and will warn people against them."

  • "These guy came and did our panels with ease, expertise, little interruption and to a high quality. They showed me what they were doing, gave me some tips, showed me some stuff on the roof and generally made me feel like they cared. Thumbs up and great job! 10/10 would recommend again!"

  • "Nothing but a disaster so far: signed contract late April; based on indicative timeline everything should have been done by mid June! Well, for starters the guy that was sent for the survey was incompetent and 3 weeks later it had to be redone. Among other things he missed that the access was not in line with expectations which was dropped on me in a casual email. ... so, long story short: here we are late August and the only communication from the project manager for the last 3 weeks has been that I should hear by the end of the week. Emails go unanswered or with significant delay in answering and then typically with a "we will advise shortly". So as a fellow consumer: don't hire them! Seldomly worked with such an unreliable counterparty !"

  • "I have been trying to get my solar panels taken off and put back on Since January 2021 for a roof repair. It took 3 weeks to get three estimates from roofers and fully complete a brand new roof, but it has taken (so far) 6 months to put the panels back on. And as of today, (6/16/20) they are still not on. Today was the second reschedule they have given me. No call, no follow-up. They just never showed. The lack of follow through and the most basic customer service is nonexistent. I have called a couple dozens of times for days without anyone every picking up the phone, which is similar to other complaints."

    - E.M.

  • "Horrible horrible customer service. Called multiple times a day for the past two weeks no one has answered the phone and I haven’t received a call back."

    - E.H.

  • "We had roof wind damage and had a leak which we had to file an insurance claim and get a water mitigation team out to dry. We needed SOMETHING done to keep the water out until they could schedule us for the roof. They assured me they would be out to pull the old roof and put a weather shield on to prevent more damage. They kept giving excuse after excuse about why they didn't come out and giving new dates of when they would be out. Needless to say, they never started, so we'll find someone who will do the work and hope all the new water damage doesn't get too bad."

    - S.B.

  • "This company is among the worst I have ever worked with. I have been trying to get Apex to come out to remove a solar panel (via SunRun) so that I can fix a hole in the roof since November 2020. It is now May 2021. Seven months of calls, emails, voicemails. Continual promises that someone's going to get back to me. No results. The scheduler always seems to "be out today." I can only imagine how much additional damage to my property has been incurred over this time because of this company's non-responsiveness."

    - D.E.

  • "Really difficult company to work with. They didn't set proper expectations before coming out to visit and I found myself frantically changing my schedule around. Wouldn't recommend."

    - R.B.

  • "Very solid experience with this company. Install (7.2 KwH in 2018) was smooth and professional. Underperformance issue was addressed this fall with zero hassle and remarkably little delay. Very pleased with all interactions and extremely pleased to be solar powered with a Tesla backup through Green Mountain Power's shared use program."

  • "was all set to have a roof installed, then the delays began, due in part to the weather. 3 cancellations and they left me hanging for the winter. they were in the area several times from late august thru october but seems they weren't much interested. i'll do my business with the local firms."

    - S

  • "Apex installed a solar-panel system on our roof. No surprises at any point, and the system is working beautifully. We're saving money and saving the planet!"

    - L.K.

  • "We were extremely pleased with Apex Solar. The staff we interacted with were all professional, attentive and responsive. From sales to operations, including our site PM were wonderful to do business with. Our roofing job went extremely well. We were truly impressed with the professionalism, expertise and work ethic of the entire team. The roofers did a wonderful job preparing, installing and cleanup. Kudos to all!!"

    - E.R.

  • "This is the best ever local clean renewable energy resource center in West Glens Falls"

    - J.S.

  • "My Apex solar rooftop system has performed for two years without outage or issues. The installation crew cheerfully installed the system in bitter cold winter weather. Sales and management were also pleasant to deal with. Apex cheerfully upheld their production guarantee after the conclusion of the 2 year guarantee period. I reached 84% of projected production for the two year period which considering the challenging roof architecture is great!"
