  • "Absolutely awesome company!"

  • "It's very disappointing on how Google let's misinformation be posted without verification. I would like address the previous post due to the many inaccuracies it contained. We at Tried & True Builders take pride in our work and our interaction with customers. The person who posted this review does not use their real name and used incorrect facts about their concerns. We are not the project leaders and there are many other trades working on this building. Most of what's been posted was not in our control. Here are the facts, 1. We have never started work before 7am as per the bylaw and our company rules. 2. The building this person was living in was not built by us. We have no influence on the quality of work they described. 3. We have a very good safety record and we try to abide by all provincial and site safety requirements. 4. There are 70+ tenants that do not have any issues on how this site is being managed. I'm using my real name and am the director of the company. The person who posted these inaccuracies will be contacted legally. Thank you, If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us."

  • "Tried & True Builders are without doubt the least professional group of individuals my family and I have ever had the displeasure of working with. When we moved into our new home, which was also built by Tried & True Builders, they began construction on a new building directly across from our new home. They started working as early as before 6 AM, even though the bylaws for Kings County stated that they could not start until 8 AM. We spoke with a worker from Tried & True Builders, and they said the bylaws don’t apply to them. They continued to work in the early mornings, which absolutely devastated many individuals living in our building because many of us worked shift work and the noise from the construction was not minor; it was so loud that even earplugs would not shut out the sound. Entire families had their sleep schedule, and mental health, devastated by this behaviour. Worse yet, they operate heavy machinery right outside of our building, and the operation of this equipment causes the floor and walls to vibrate, and, to the dozen or so families that this affects, also causes intense headaches, vertigo, and nausea because of how close to us it is. Because Tried & True Builders would not agree to start working later in the morning, even knowing that their insensitivity on this issue was negatively affecting the livelihoods of dozens of families, many residents decided to take matters in to our own hands, and we began calling the police. After receiving a great deal of complaints, Kentville finally ended up passing a bylaw that prevented Tried & True Builders from beginning their work before 7 AM. And still, the police were called multiple times to deal with workers from Tried & True Builders for starting operations too early in the morning. Finally, after multiple warnings from the police from a large number of calls by residents, Tried & True Builders gave in, and started working within the hours as stipulated by the bylaw. However, the bylaw also states that construction work must end after 8 PM. There have been countless times, well over a dozen, where construction work continued far later into the night, with at least a few nights where work did not end until after 10:30 PM. The police were called by multiple residents during these late nights, and every time Tried & True Builders gave an excuse stating that they did not realize how long it would take to do that day’s work, and that it would not happen again. It did happen again, however, multiple times. And you would think that, being “tried and true” professionals, that they would have been able to determine how long a day’s work would take before disrupting the lives up a dozen or so families over the course of an entire day and night cycle. This is just one example of the absolute incompetence and utter disregard Tried & True Builders has demonstrated to its customers. We have been keeping records of a much longer list of grievances that we have had with the unprofessional, distressing, and vulgar behaviour of Tried & True Builders. I, and others in our building, have been taking video recordings of the unprofessional behaviour shown by Tried & True Builders, as well as documenting the lengthy list of construction and installation errors that were made by Tried & True Builders during the construction of our new home. We will be compiling all of this over the coming months in an effort to document how truly and utterly horrible our experiences have been with Tried & True Builders. I cannot stress this enough: Do not hire Tried & True Builders. Their workers are vulgar, inexperienced, and unprofessional, and their managers have absolutely no compassion or regard for the dozens of families their unnecessarily disrespectful behaviour and dissatisfactory service has affected. *Picture: No hard hats despite working with heavy machinery on a roof. A daily routine. No matter how inexpensive they may be to hire, do yourselves a favour and hire a company that employs people who have morals, experience, and competent leadership. Do not hire Tried & True Builders."
