  • "After a tornado hit our neighborhood in January everyone was devastated. A woman came up during this time and stated she was a public adjuster and for a small percentage she would handle everything. She stated she had a general contractor that she highly recommended. NOT KNOWING ROSESTONE was her father-in-law business. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! We never rec’d an estimate during the project even though we were promised one over and over. We verbally agreed on what projects would be completed. We were told if we assisted with the clean up that money would be taken off of the price. Then, when we rec'd a list of items that they purchased, we noticed they were counting the tarps that we supplied for them to use. Again, they stated that we would receive a credit towards the price. Which, was never received!!! Random people would just show up at our house without the knowledge of completing the task at hand or the tools they needed. Some of our windows were broken by his subcontractors and he refused to replace the windows. He used a dumpster that we supplied for our trash and broken items from the tornado. We complained and once again he stated we would be credited for this off of the price. He left garbage, roofing nails, siding nails, and other items all over our yard. The owner was verbally aggressive towards us and would not return our phone calls. He installed used windows from a savage place and stated they were new and refused to make it right. When we finally got a budget, after the project was completed. He had added about a 75% mark up on his subcontractors. He never responded to our letter questioning him about this. I wished we knew this was a SCAM upfront. At the end he never completed the work and overcharged us as if he had built us a new home from the ground up. His daughter in law made sure he received all of his money first and along with her percentage. Other contractors that was hired by us did not receive their share of the money from the public adjuster because her father in law kept adding false fees until they received most of the money. Please be aware of wolves in sheep's clothing. AND how could anyone take advantage of someone with small children and surviving a devastation like this."

  • "I hired them for a basement renovation at the recommendation of a friend and real estste agent. Big mistake. We never rec’d a budget during the project - but was promised one over and over. Every week he promised to drip it off. We verbally agreed to a price of 20-25k, but he assured us closer to 20k at cost plus 10%. He also said it would be completed in 10 days, max 2 weeks because it was “so easy”. The project came in at 35k and took 3 months, not 20k and 10 days. We didn’t expand the scope of work other than replace 1 existing wall light, which we purchased. His sub just put it up. Random people showed up at our house over 90 days with no notice. He left garbage at my house, strewn all over my driveway and sideward and then charged me double when I asked to have the paint and nail filled wood removed to avoid my children and dogs from injury. The owner was verbally aggressive towards us, his subs were too. Especially to women. When we finally got a budget, after the project was completed, we disputed the 10k over charge. He had a 4K “engineering fee” and other made up charges. We offered to settle at half the difference. He never responded to our very detailed letter. Then we found out why. When we sold our house, he had our friend/agent inform us he would put a lien on our home if we didn’t pay him the 10k. He planned to prohibit us from selling our home unless we paid his excessive made up fees. Ask yourself, would you want to do business with someone like this?"
