  • "I did not trust the man who came out to do the estimate on my house. I got a fair price from another company. They we $6,000 cheeper! I think the staff must be working on commission that why they try and jack the prices up."

  • "I was scheduled to have an exhaust fan hood installed on our roof. My appointment was made well in advance. On the day of the appointment, actually 1 hour before they were to arrive, I receive a call saying that they have a $5,000.00 minimum for all jobs and that the woman that I had scheduled with, would not know that. He then added that they are 12 to 14 weeks out for any appointments. Times are tough, and this company is only making it harder for everyone. Not a good business practice."

  • "Had to wait several months for the work to get started, but once started, they were finished in one day. Ordered the gutter guards, but somewhere along the way that information did not make it to the crew doing the installation. The workmanship was great. I have never seen a better job of installing the soffit. True craftsmen. The price was a little high, but I knew I was getting a great job from previous work done on our house."

Every aspect of the contract was fully explained to me, from the methodology to the materials and pricing. When it was time for the team to complete the roofing job, Marc did an excellent job in managing my own expectations as well as the project itself. The team arrived promptly, got started right away, and completed a job that I thought might take 2-3 days in under 9 hours, including the clean-up afterwards. Marc was very communicative and personable, and an overall pleasure to work with.I greatly appreciate having received pictures of the work in progress as well as the final result.   • "Last year a storm dropped a branch on our roof in Wayne, PA and punched a hole in it. We lived on the west coast. We had a renter in the house, and neither they nor anyone else knew there was a problem until the upstairs ceiling fell in from accumulated water in the insulation. We immediately had a handyman put on a temporary patch. Russell Roofing had previously done good work for us, so we called them in to do a full repair, inside and out, including replacement of the sheathing plywood, underlayment, and shingles. The inside work they hired a sub for, and that was done well enough. For months Russell gave us various excuses for delaying the exterior work, until finally they sent out a crew. In the meantime, in the spring we had put our house on the market, and it sold quickly. It was left to the new owners to discover that the work we had been charged for had not been done at all. We have some great pictures. I contacted Russell Roofing and demanded a full refund. Faced with the facts, they graciously refunded the money, and added a bit as a gesture of good will. Their response was all that anyone could ask. From our conversation I learned that the crew who they sent to do the work was no longer employed by Russell, and that we were not the only ones affected. This raises a couple of questions. One, where was the quality assurance, the oversight, that should have caught this problem before it blew up in their faces? And two, if they knew by this point that this lazy crew had cheated others... one wonders if they just crossed their fingers and hoped they could get away with it."

  • "I typically do not write reviews but given my poor experience with Russell roofing, I felt I should comment. I needed a historic porch roof repaired in West Philadelphia. I was set up for an estimate after describing the project so they knew what was involved. The estimator called me a few minutes after the scheduled time and said he was running late but that he would be there. He asked me to describe what I was looking for them to do, which I explained. It was a bit more involved than just taking off the rubber roof and replacing it. He told me that they weren't going to be able to do this for me. They didn't have the capabilities so he wasn't going to come. I find it hard to believe that Russell roofing couldn't handle the scope of the project I needed, especially since much smaller companies already gave me quotes for the project and could handle what I needed. Interestingly, the same estimator had come last year when I needed a fascia board replaced on the side of my house after it pulled away in a wind storm. He told me that I didn't want Russell roofing to replace this because they're too expensive for this kind of simple job. At the time I thought he was doing me a favor and trying to save me money, but given he twice told me they couldn't accommodate or were too expensive, I am fairly certain I was discriminated against because of where my property is located and he assumed I couldn't afford what I needed done. Reality is affording Russell roofing isn't a problem for me, but I would rather not deal with pretentious contractors There are plenty of very good roofers in Philadelphia. Don't let Russell roofing upcharge for their pretentiousness Unfortunately I missed half a day of work and coordinated my schedule in order to meet with them Thank you Travis Ninzeheltzer from Russell roofing for showing me your discriminatory colors"

  • "Russell Roofing installed a membrane on our flat-top roof when the previous owners were here, just a few years ago. Our roof was leaking when we moved in (undisclosed) so we called them to ask about fixing it. Not only did they say they wouldn't honor the warranty, but they also told me that they probably wouldn't even fix the problem if I paid them because they have a "minimum job" amount. They did offer to come out and look at it, but their timeline was way out to even stop by and do that. We wound up just calling someone else, who showed us where the membrane had been installed improperly around a doorframe to where it was basically acting as a "gutter" to channel in all of the water from around the door underneath the TPO. At any rate, the lack of willingness to stand by the installation of their "22 to 30 year lifespan system" 3 years later, or even fix what they screwed up the first time, for money, does not instill much confidence in their work for me. I gave 2 stars because the guy I spoke to was mostly nice."

Vince Cirino, our project manager, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and patient with us as we sorted through the many options for our roof replacement and ventilation installation. He definitely helped us determine the perfect shingle style and color for our house from an aesthetic and performance perspective. Tim Craft and his crew did great work and were upfront about the few minor issues that cropped up along the way. Overall, the project was delivered on time and within budget, and it looks fantastic. We're very happy with the results and definitely recommend Vince and Russell Roofing."
