To celebrate 125 years as a leader in the roofing industry, employees of GAF, the largest roofing and ventilation manufacturer in North America, will be participating in Habitat for Humanity builds across the country. On June 22, GAF will help build houses in partnership with families in need in New Jersey, Texas, and California.
The company is committed to both sustainability and community outreach. Participating in these team builds with Habitat for Humanity not only highlights GAF’s dedication to community, but will also serve as an opportunity for employees to contribute personally.
“GAF as a company has been very fortunate. Through the hard work and devotion of our employees, we have managed to stay at the forefront of our industry for 125 years - no small feat for a company, especially given the recent economic climate,” stated Paul Bromfield, senior vice president of marketing at GAF. He continued, “This is a great opportunity to help families in need of housing and it also is a chance to give our employees an opportunity to make a positive difference in communities.”
GAF recently engaged in a first-of-its kind national alliance with Habitat for Humanity where GAF provides roofing materials for GAF Master Elite® and Certified ™ Contractors donating roofing installation services for Habitat homes in their communities. All installed roofs carry GAF’s System Plus ltd. warranty.
Now proudly celebrating its 125th year in the industry, GAF has become the largest roofing manufacturer in North America, with sales of nearly $3 billion annually. The company’s products include a comprehensive portfolio of steep-slope and low-slope roofing systems, as well as composite decking, which are supported by an extensive national network of factory-certified contractors. Its success is driven by a commitment to provide property owners and specifiers with the best and safest choice in roofing and by helping supportive contractors and distributors to build their businesses and avoid hassles.
With a focus on social responsibility, GAF has developed single-ply and asphaltic membranes with superior durability and high reflectivity to meet the most rigorous industry standards while helping commercial property owners and designers reduce energy consumption.
The Company also supports the roofing industry through CARE, the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence, which has provided education to over 125,000 professionals. CARE’s mission is to help professional contractors and distributors build their businesses through sales and management education, and to provide product and installation training to contractors, distributors, architects, property owners, and related industry personnel.
