GAF, the largest roofing manufacturer in North America, will again be featured in an episode of the long-running ABC network program, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” airing Sunday, January 16.
Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover crew will be building a home more conducive to the medical needs of Zoë Simpson, a child who has repeatedly beaten the medical odds in his two years of life. When Zoë was born, parents Carmen and Jim Simpson were told that he had a deadly condition and was given only 24 hours to live. The condition guaranteed blindness and doctors said that should Zoë manage to survive longer, he would never be able to breathe on his own, let alone walk or talk.
Amazing everyone and going against science, Zoë’s eyes and lungs both healed and began to work on their own. He is now two years old and though he is developmentally delayed, he continues to grow and live a happy life with his brother Isaac and sister Katelyn. The family is so grateful for this miracle, they have been paying it forward, constantly looking for ways to serve their community and help others.
“It is so rewarding to be able to make this contribution to a family who has been through so much and who do so much for others,” said Ted Marcopolus, vice president of marketing services at GAF. “We are honored to have had the opportunity to participate in this project.”
The home will feature GAF’s Timberline® HD™ shingles, which incorporate GAF’s proprietary Advanced Protection technology. This proprietary technology offers improved performance, including superior wind resistance, while being more environmentally friendly due to lower unnecessary material usage. Timberline® HD™ shingles pass the industry’s two toughest wind tests: ASTM D3161 Class F 110 mph and ASTM D7158 Class H 150 mph and carry a lifetime limited warranty.
The program will be airing nationally on the ABC network at 8:00pm on Sunday, January 16 and will feature celebrity chef Paula Deen.
Now proudly celebrating its 125th year in the industry, GAF has become the largest roofing manufacturer in North America, with sales of nearly $3 billion annually.
