Things to consider when filing a claim
In order to properly evaluate your claim, GAF will require a minimum of two, full size shingle samples, from the affected area(s) of the roof, that exhibit the reported condition. The shingle samples will be evaluated by our laboratory to determine if the shingles were manufactured to GAF specifications and to identify any manufacturing defects that could adversely affect the performance of your shingles.
It is the property owner’s responsibility to arrange for shingle sample submission. GAF strongly recommends that you engage the services of an experienced contractor to remove the shingles.
If your roof is not accessible due to weather conditions, such as snow cover, you should wait until it can be safely accessed. GAF will leave your claim open for up to 9 months in order to provide you with a reasonable amount of time to gather the required submittals.
