The Solution
The existing building that GAF was moving into had a ballasted EPDM roof with XPS and EPS insulation. While the existing roof was not leaking, it was determined that due to the use of the XPS and EPS insulation, the roof design was not as en-USergy efficien-USt as GAF would like to have. In addition, the use of taped EPDM seams meant the increased possibilty of leaking as compared to a heat weldable seam. It was determined that the more efficien-USt en-USergyGuardTM ISO and heat weldable EverGuard Extreme® TPO replace the existing roof.
