GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, is pleased to donate quality roofing materials to support the preservation of Camp Toccoa at Currahee, a historic landmark in Georgia where 6,000 men trained for World War II. Timberline HD® Shingles and GAF accessories were installed atop a 6,700 square foot pavilion that will be used to honor all veterans and active-duty military, as well as host events and celebrations.
“GAF is honored to donate product to Camp Toccoa as a display of gratitude for our active and retired troops,” stated Megan Filiaggi, senior manager of marketing communications at GAF. “We support the Camp’s mission to provide facilities for public education and remembrance of the ‘Toccoa Men’ who trained as paratroopers on this site.”
Additional renovations at Camp Toccoa are currently underway to protect the site and its natural environment for future generations. The Camp’s rich history can be seen in the television series Band of Brothers, and inspired characters portrayed in the film Saving Private Ryan.
