GAF, a leading building materials manufacturer in North America, announces the production of EnergyGuard™ PolyIso Insulated Sheathing, a high-performance building envelope insulation that reduces energy costs and increases comfort due to its high R-value.
Installing insulated sheathing in either new construction or retrofit eliminates thermal bridging and adds additional insulation to the rest of the wall. It also reduces air filtration and acts as a vapor retarder.
Unlike EPS and XPS products, which contain CFCs, EnergyGuard™ PolyIso Insulated Sheathing is environmentally friendly. It is manufactured with EPA-compliant blowing agents containing no CFCs or HCFCs, having zero ozone depletion potential and virtually no global warming potential.
“Installing EnergyGuard™ PolyIso Insulated Sheathing adds additional insulation to the wall and creates a more comfortable and healthy home, resulting in higher performance and energy savings,” stated Justin Hardy, product manager at GAF.
GAF offers 4' x 8' boards available in 0.5", 0.75", 1", and 2" thicknesses to best suit all building requirements. Its range of applications include cavity walls, masonry walls, stud walls, exterior stucco, re-siding, and vaulted ceilings. The product is available to contractors and consumers at The Home Depot and other fine retailers.
