GAF’s Monaco™ Lifetime Designer Shingles Win Gold Innovation Award

GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, was recently awarded the Gold Innovation Award for Asphalt Roofing Shingles from Home Builder Executive for its Monaco Lifetime Designer Shingles. Home Builder Executive Innovation Award honorees include manufacturers that have brought unique products, features, and/or builder programs to market during the past year. Editors review company websites, press releases, and promotional materials along with articles and interviews published over the past year to determine award winners.

“We are so pleased to have won this award for innovation, which is a key focus of GAF’s company-wide,” stated Leslie Franklin, product manager, Designer Shingles, at GAF. “The award is an indication of the amount of dedication and effort that went into the development of the Monaco shingle, and is evidence of our continued efforts to listen to the needs of our customers.”

GAF’s Monaco Lifetime Designer Shingles are the industry’s first true tile-look asphalt shingles that replicate the beauty of European tile. Unlike traditional tile, Monaco Lifetime Designer Shingles are budget-friendly and easier to install, making the dream of having a beautiful tile-look roof within reach for any homeowner. Shingles won’t crack when they’re walked on and are easy to replace if they are damaged. They also resist damage from pests and avoid the permanent staining that can be found on tile roofs.

Monaco Lifetime Designer Shingles incorporate GAF’s proprietary Advanced Protection Technology, which results in shingles that offer improved performance—including superior durability and wind resistance—while reducing the use of precious natural resources. As with all GAF Lifetime Shingles, they pass ASTM’s two toughest wind tests—ASTM D3161 Class F 110 mph and ASTM D7158 Class H 150 mph—and carry GAF’s Lifetime limited warranty.
