GAF-Elk has added nine inch versions of its Cobra® RigidVent 3™ and Cobra® Snow Country Advanced™ ridge vents, designed to work with the narrow ridge cap products popular in the western and southwestern areas of the U.S. Specifically, these two new ridge vent products are designed to work with GAF-Elk’s, Z Ridge®, Grand Canyon®/Grand Sequoia® Hip & Ridge, and Ridglass® 10”, as well as other 10” wide competitive ridge cap shingles. The original versions of these Cobra® ridge vent products measure twelve inches and work with traditional size cap shingles.
The nine inch versions of Cobra® RigidVent 3™ and Cobra® Snow Country Advanced™ ridge vents offer Cobra®’s patented EasyTear™ sizing system along with three inch ring shank nails for maximum fastening power when installing the vent and ridge cap shingles. As its name suggests, the Snow Country Advanced™ vent incorporates a SnowGuard™ filter to help prevent snow infiltration.
Cobra® attic ventilation products are essential contributors for effective attic ventilation, which is critical for a long-lasting roof. A properly balanced attic ventilation system will help to remove excess heat and moisture, protecting the roof from premature deterioration, minimizing peeling and extending the life of interior and exterior paint, limiting mold and mildew damage, and guarding against ice damming in the winter. Proper ventilation also can help to reduce excessive cooling costs.
