GAF Materials Corporation recently contributed to the community-wide efforts to help a Nutley, NJ family improve the condition of their dilapidated home. The Nutley Citizens Special-Needs Committee, a committee run by former mayor Carmen Orechio, formed to help keep three special needs sisters with excessive unpaid property taxes from losing their home of 45 years. After raising enough funds to help Elaine, Maryanne, and Sandra Adams stay in their home, the committee turned its attention towards improving the condition of the house.
They reached out to the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) disaster relief committee in the hopes of securing roofing materials for the project, and as supporters of the NRCA’s position to help people in need, GAF Materials Corporation enthusiastically donated the materials. The Adams sisters were supplied with GAF-Elk Timberline® 30 High Definition® roofing shingles, with a 30 year limited warranty and up to 110 mph wind coverage.
“GAF is a proud supporter of the NRCA and was pleased to be given the opportunity to contribute to this cause,” stated Vic Anthony, Vice President of Marketing at GAF. “We are certainly happy to know that the Adams sisters will be able to remain in their home and that they have a high quality roof protecting them and their belongings.”
