About Us

Sutton’s was founded by Edsell and Mayme Sutton following World War II in 1946 and it soon became a Springfield tradition known for honesty and quality exterior remodeling services. Edsell’s and Mayme’s son, Douglas Sr., joined the business in 1973 and expanded the scope of business by adding interior remodeling to its service offerings. In 1995, Sutton’s again expanded its service offerings to include insurance repairs, restorations, and handy man services. Douglas Sr. retired in 2010, but his two sons, Douglas Jr. and Michael continue the family’s third generation ownership and oversight of the business today. 2021 is their 75th Anniversary! When you choose to do business with Sutton’s, you are doing so with a locally family owned company that has a “Sutton” at your service, and will honor the privilege of your patronage. "Had a storm in Springfield Illinois the whole week starting 08/01/22. A tree fell on my home destroyed the back porch as well as the roof my insurance company was a joke. Jason from Suttons came out to access the damages it was determined that I needed a new roof as well as my back porch area being rebuilt. Very professional they had City come out as well to make sure it would be up to code and although I had to wait awhile before they could get started. They were very good got the roof completed in a couple days and when they did the back porch it took only a week and few days to complete. Very satisfied with the quality work. Thank God for them"

"This was my very first major project on my home and I am so thankful I went with Sutton's! We originally met Ben who quoted the project, gave me all of my options and helped me make all of the final design decisions keeping both my budget and the final look in mind. He was informative and patient with me as I asked a million questions. Adam, our project manager was so helpful and kept me informed throughout the entire project! He answered every single one of my questions and went above and beyond, even with my crazy requests and last minute changes. We had all new windows installed, new siding and shutters completed on our home. I love the quality of work done by Sutton's and the final look is exactly what I wanted!! The project was done fast once all of the materials were in and the crew did a great job of cleaning up once they were finished. I couldn't be happier with Sutton's and (what feels like) our new home!"
